The total number of passing tests
recorded corresponds to a frequency of 1 per 500 cy, which satisfies the minimum
required frequency of 1 per 500 cy. In, addition, oven moisture contents were
performed at the minimum specified frequency of 1 per 5,000 cy. Areas that failed
AgIlL
to meet the acceptable compaction were reworked and/or replaced and retested until
a passing result was achieved. Summaries of the field moisture/density testing are
tabulated in Appendix C.
Upon completion of the subgrade fill on the slopes, the Contractor prepared the
surface for geosynthetics placement by smooth drum rolling the area. Vector's CQA
Monitor observed the smooth drum rolling procedure and advised the Contractor of
areas where ridges, rough areas, and/or voids were present so that these areas could
be reworked. Once the surface preparation was complete, the area was approved for
geosynthetics placement. A subgrade acceptance form was prepared by Vector's
CQA Monitor and the Geosyntetic Installer prior to placement. Subgrade
acceptance forms are presented in Appendix E.
Vector Engineering, Inc. • 143E Spring Hill Drive^Grass Valley,CA 95945•(530)272-2448
-12-
