The entrance to the RRF/Compost Facility is all-weather surfaces. Onsite roads are
constructed as needed. These onsite roads will be constructed with onsite soils,
crushed asphalt or aggregate, or both. The roads are maintained by site personnel.
Since the roads and entrance facility area are not paved, there is no thorough cleaning.
In addition, litter is raked and picked up. Dirt tracked onto Austin Road by vehicles
entering and leaving the site is cleaned up by Forward personnel. The site is graded to
provide all-weather access.
2.3.5 Visual Screening
Describe how the facility will be maintained to provide an aesthetically acceptable
appearance as approved by the LEA and the local land use Authority.
The southern and eastern (Austin Road) sides of the site have a 5-foot high earthen berm to
limit the site visibility from the road. In addition, the eastern side of the site (Austin Road)
and the landfill entrance area have been landscaped with trees and brush.
Forward Composting Facility RCSI
7/20/09;Page 27 SWT Engineering
