STIRRAT 6 ASSOCIATES
CIVIL ANO ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERS
January 19, 2010 JN: 09-0087
Mr. Robert McClellon
County of San Joaquin
Environmental Health Department
600 East Main Street
Stockton, California 95202
RE: DRILLING REPORT OF LANDFILL GAS MONITORING PERIMETER PROBE
INSTALLATION AT FORWARD LANDFILL
Dear Mr. McClellon:
Bryan A. Stirrat & Associates (BAS) is pleased to present the following report on behalf
of Republic Services Inc. (RSI) to the County of San Joaquin Environmental Health
Department (EHD). This report describes the procedures implemented during the
drilling and installation of(2) perimeter landfill gas monitoring probes at Forward Landfill
(Forward). The newly installed perimeter probes were constructed in accordance with
Title 27 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Division 2, Chapter 3, Subchapter
4, Article 6, Section 20925 (Title 27). All the modifications to the probe monitoring
program were performed before the California Integrated Waste Management Board's
(CIWMB) October 18, 2009 deadline.
The Forward Landfill is located at 9999 South Austen Road In Manteca, California. A
Site Location Map showing the Forward Landfill is included as Figure 1. The entire site
area is 567 acres. Approximately 144 acres of the site is occupied by the existing
Forward Landfill, with another 244 acres being occupied by the existing Austin Road
Landfill. Ramp and fill methods of disposal have been used to consolidate waste in both
landfills throughout their operational history. According to the latest survey data, refuse
has been documented at elevations as low as approximately 25-feet above mean sea
level (amsl).
1360 Valley Vista Drive • Diamond Bar, CA 91765 • (909) 660-7777 • FAX (909) 660-8017
