The peak elevation of the <br /> proposed deck area for the Forward Landfill is 200 feet amsl and from that <br /> point final deck grades slope down to 170 feet arnsl in the area of the existing <br /> Austin Road Landfill(see Drawing 4). This grading configuration allows <br /> conformance with the height limit zoning plan contours for the Stockton <br /> Municipal Airport(see Figure 2). The issue of the airport's proximity to the <br /> landfills was addressed in the 1993 Environmental Impact Report(EIR)for the <br /> Forward Landfill Expansion(LSA, 1993)and in the 1994 EIR for the Austin <br /> Road Landfill Expansion(ESA, 1994). Letters from the Stockton Municipal <br /> Airport noted that significant bird hazards were not caused by either the <br /> Forward or Austin Road Landfills and that the bird control measures <br /> implemented by the landfills were effective. Mitigation measures were provided <br /> in the subject EIRs. <br /> The aggroximately 184-acre tWJpr_@rea is located in the southwest comer of <br /> the site.
