Mr. Robert McClellon
Re: Forward Landfill Expansion/ Approval of SWFP Revision
November 18,2011
Page 4
footprint, the other actions of the Landfill belie its true intent in attempting to annex this new
land into its facility boundaries. The cancellation of the Williamson Act contract on the
expansion land, the Landfill's previous attempts and proposals to expand solid waste disposal
to this site as contemplated in the now-withdrawn 2010 Draft Environmental Impact Report,
and the other past actions indicate these restrictions in the revised SWFP are illusory in
nature. This appears to be,in fact,a transparent effort to expand the Landfill's footprint area
by breaking the process into stages to avoid proper environmental review and opposition from
nearby landowners as well as responsible regulatory agencies. The La Forces remain
staunchly opposed to any such expansion for all of the reasons cited above, and urge the LEA
and any other entity with the authority to stop this expansion and disapprove of the revised
SWFP to take action. We look forward to working with the LEA in this regard as this process
continues.
Very truly yours,
Nicholas A.Jacobs
Attorney
NAJ:jm
cc: Clients
