Construction Air Permit
compliance with this rule. This information shall be retained for a period of at least five years,
shall be readily available, and be made available to the APCO upon request. The engine-
operating log shall include, on a monthly basis, the following information:
• Total hours of operation,
• Type of fuel used,
• Maintenance or modifications performed,
• Monitoring data,
• Compliance source test results, and ,
• Any other information necessary to demonstrate compliance with this rule.
Section 6.2.2 requires that the data collected pursuant to the requirements of Section 5.7 shall be
maintained for at least five years, shall be readily available, and made available to the APCO
upon request.
4. Compliance Testing
Section 6.3.2.1 requires that the new LFG-fired IC engines be source tested at initial start-up and
once every 24 months thereafter. The proposed IC engines will be required to be source tested at
initial start-up and at least once every 24 months thereafter. Therefore, compliance with this
section of the rule is expected.
5. Compliance Schedule
Section 7.6 requires the owner of a Non-AO Spark-Ignited Engine subject to ATC submit
documents no later than six months before the engine is required to be in full compliance with
Rule 4702.
Rule 4801 Sulfur Compounds
Rule 4801 requires that sulfur compound emissions (as SO2) shall not exceed 0.2% by volume.
Based on Table 1, the maximum SO2 concentrations of compounds found in LFG will be 150
ppmv. Therefore the total SO2 concentrations for the two engines and flare are not expected to
be greater than 2,000 ppmv. The engines are expected to comply with Rule 4801.
California Health & Safety Code 42301.6 (School Notice)
The SJVAPCD has verified that this site is not located within 1,000 feet of a school. Therefore,
pursuant to California Health and Safety Code §42301.6, a school notice is not required.
40 Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) Subpart JJJJ Standards of Performance for
Stationary Spark Ignition Internal Combustion Engines
The proposed engines are rated at over 100 bhp and per section 60.4233(e) are subject to the
limits presented in Tables IA and 113 of this subpart. The Tables IA and 113 limits as well as the
proposed emissions are shown on the following table. This regulation does not specify an
emissions average period.
16
