1.6 PACKING AND SHIPPING <br /> A. Geosynthetic clay liners shall be supplied in rolls wrapped in liquid impermeable <br /> and opaque protective covers. <br /> B. Geosynthetic clay liners shall be marked or tagged with the following information: <br /> 1. manufacturer's name; <br /> 2. product identification; <br /> 3. lot number; <br /> 4. roll number; and <br /> 5. roll dimensions. <br /> C. Transportation of the prefabricated geosynthetic clay liner is the responsibility of the <br /> GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR <br /> shall be liable for all damages to the materials incurred prior to and during <br /> transportation to the site. <br /> 1.7 DELIVERY, STORAGE,AND PROTECTION <br /> A. Delivery. <br /> 1. Deliver materials to the site only after the QA/QC CONSULTANT accepts <br /> required submittals. <br /> 2. Separate damaged rolls from undamaged rolls and store at locations <br /> designated by the OWNER until proper disposition of material is <br /> determined by the QA/QC CONSULTANT and the OWNER. <br /> 3. The GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for damage <br /> to the GCL during delivery, even if the rolls are unloaded by the <br /> EARTHWORK CONTRACTOR. The QA/QC CONSULTANT will <br /> determine damage. <br /> B. Handling, storage, and care of the geosynthetic clay liner, prior to and following <br /> installation, are the responsibility of the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR, until <br /> Final Acceptance of the liner system by the OWNER. <br /> C. The GCL shall be protected from moisture, excessive heat or cold, puncture, or <br /> other damaging or deleterious conditions. The GCL shall be stored off the ground <br /> and out of direct sunlight. Any additional storage procedures required by the <br /> manufacturer shall be the GEOSYNTHETICS CONTRACTOR'S responsibility. <br /> 1.8 SEQUENCING AND SCHEDULING <br /> A. A pre-installation meeting shall be held to coordinate the installation of the <br /> geosynthetic clay liner with the installation of other components of the lining <br /> system. <br /> B. The geosynthetic clay liner shall be on-site fourteen days prior to the scheduled <br /> installation date to allow for completion of acceptance testing. <br /> ® Forward Landfill WMU FU-13 3 GEOSYNTHETIC CLAY LINER(GCL) <br /> 02777 <br />
