ATTACT3N'T E
40 CONSOLIDATED FORWARD LANDFILL PROJECT
FINAL ENVIRONMENTAL LMPACT REPORT
ERRATA
The Heading "E. Public Health and Safety" «'as inadvertently omitted from Tablell-1, p.-
11 of the FEIR.
In addition, the first paragraph under 'Proposed as Part of the Project" on that page, as
well as the paragraph extending from the bottom of page 129 onto the top of p. 130, and
the first paragraph under "E. Public Health and Safety" on p. 7 of Appe-ndix G,
Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program" in the FEIR are all corrected for clarity
to read as follows:
Use a total of 17 pieces of equipment (at anygiven time) over the life q --the project to
minimize particulate discharge. As sho-u-n in Table IV.EA, (FEIR, p 129), the risk from
particulate - and specifically diesel fortes — m7I be lessened for the prey- ct versus the
baseline conditions. The existing 28 pieces M'diesel powered landfall oTerating equipnent
Will be changed out every 5 years at Farrand and every 10 years at Au tin, and avould he
reduced to a total of 17 pieces of equipment doer a 15 -year or fewer.
In addition, the last paragraph on page 128 is corrected to read as follosti s:
The risks are considered to be reduced in the proposed project conaparre: to the baseltrte
permit conditions because: 1) A lesser arnmint of particulate generating equipment used
per ton disposed of 2) Waste avill be Humeri aver a shorter period of time (14 versus 30 in
years) and daily hours of equipment openziian will be only slightly increased rather than
proportionally increased (10.5 versus 9.0 hours per day), and; 3) the risk protocols
evaluates exposure over a 30 -year timefimme and the project avould only result in diesel
emissions for 14 years while the continued ZmLl-level operations ofAustin Road landfill
under existing permits would occur for the entire 30- year exposure period.
The FEIR inadvertently had 30 -year lifetimes for both the proposed project and existing
Austin Road landfill. The proposed project would have a 14 -year operational lifespan.
The minutes of the San Joaquin County FLmudng Commission's October 3, 2002 Hearing
on the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Consolidated Forward Landfill
Project were inadvertently omitted from Section IX, Comments and Responses, of the
Final Environmental Impact Report. Those minutes are attached and incorporated bN
reference into the Final EIR as Item A(1) following page 236 of the Final EIR. Because no
environmental issues or questions are raised in the Commissioners' comments, no
response is required.
