1 .8 PUBLIC INPUT <br /> Active participation by the public in the planning process is a <br /> theme that runs through AB 2948. Section 25135.2 of the Health <br /> and Safety Code requires that each county "establish an advisory <br /> committee of at least seven members to assist the county in the <br /> preparation and administration of the CHWMP. " <br /> In accordance with this requirement, the CHWMP Advisory Committee <br /> was established to assist the County in preparing the Plan. <br /> Sixteen subcommittees were formed to focus on specific elements <br /> of the CHWMP. Of the over 90 members who served on these <br /> subcommittees, 14. represented the public -and the environment, 19 <br /> represented industry, and 3 represented agriculture. The <br /> remaining subcommittee members were county and city staff <br /> members. <br /> The following public hearings were held to receive comments on <br /> the CHWMP: <br /> City of Stockton May 16, 1988 <br /> City of Ripon May 17, 1988 <br /> City of Lodi May 18, 1988 <br /> City of Escalon June 6, 1988 <br /> City of Tracy June 7, 1988 <br /> City of Manteca June 20, 1988 <br /> San Joaquin County June 21 , 1988 <br /> No written comments related to the CHWMP were submitted by the <br /> public at any of these meetings. <br /> 1 .9 ORGANIZATION OF THE CHWMP <br /> The organization of topics in the CHWMP follows Section 3.0 of <br /> the r - <br /> meat Plans (June 30, 1987) , prepared by DHS.
