t <br /> 13.3 PESTICIDE INVESTIGATIONS <br /> Pursuant to Health and Safety Code, Section 2950, the Agricultural <br /> Commissioner's Office investigates all reported pesticide poisoning <br /> incidents that have resulted from spills and pesticide use. The <br /> Health District investigation is undertaken in conjunction with the <br /> Agricultural Commissioner's Office. The Local Health District inves- <br /> tigates any health effects resulting from exposure to pesticides, <br /> while the Agricultural Commissioner's Office determines whether any <br /> violations occurred during the handling, application, or use of the <br /> pesticide. Once the investigation has been completed, a report is <br /> — sent to the State Department of Health Services, the State Food and <br /> Agricultural Department, and the County Agricultural Commissioner's <br /> _ Office. <br /> 13.4 INFECTIOUS WASTE PROGRAM <br /> The Division of Environmental Health enforces the Infectious Waste <br /> Program, as defined in Section 25117.5 of the California Health and <br /> Safety Code. The major focus of this program is the monitoring and <br /> inspection of infectious waste generators, transporters, and treatment <br /> facilities. Chapter 19.0 describes the management of the infectious <br /> wastes. <br /> 13.5 COMPLAINT INVESTIGATIONS <br /> The Division of Environmental Health investigates complaints of <br /> illegal disposal and transportation of hazardous materials and wastes. <br /> If violations have occurred, the Health District refers these cases to <br /> - the District Attorney's Office for appropriate legal action. <br /> 13.6 INSPECTION OF PUBLIC WATER SYSTEMS <br /> The Local Health District routinely monitors and conducts inspections <br /> of some 350 public water systems in the County.
