CN CLAY, yellowish red (5YR, 4/6); 10% medium -grained sand; very dense and stiff; damp. CL/ SILTY SAND and CLAY, Interbedded (4:1); SM Clay: yellowish red (5YR, 4/6); slight plasticity; damp to moist. Sand: very pale brown (10YR, 7/4); 15-40% fines; fine to medium 10 grained; micaceous; occasional iron oxidation stains. SANDY CLAY to SANDY SILT, yellowish brown (10YR, 5/4) to dark brown CL (7.5YR, 4/4) and yellowish red (5YR, 4/6); 20% fine- to medium -grained sand; moderately silty. REMARKS Drilled with air rotary methods to a depth of 170 feet, employing water injection from 28-50 feet and 110-170 feet. Mud rotary drilling was used to advance the hole from 170 to a total depth of 215 feet. ® denotes bag sample.
