C
IV. GROUND -WATER SAMPLING AND ANALYSIS PLAN
The sampling and analysis procedures for the proposed ground -water
monitoring system are described below. The procedures are provided so
that consistent and reproducible methods are used to obtain samples
from monitoring wells and that proper analyses are performed on the
samples.
A. MONITORING PARAMETERS
To establish baseline ground -water quality data for the site, EMCON
analyzed ground -water samples from Wells G-1 and G-2 for the following
parameters:
• Volatile organic compounds,
according to EPA Method 624
• Semivolatile organic
compounds, according to EPA
Method 625
• Pesticides and polychlorinated
biphenyls, according to EPA
Method 608
• Zinc
• Phenols
• Alkalinity
• 27 ICRP metals
• Total organic
carbon
• Chloride
• Nitrate
• Iron
• Notal dissolved
solids
• Electrical
conductivity
• Total Kjeldahl
nitrogen
A discussion of the analytical results is contained in an EMCON
Associates report (1987b). Based on the results of the baseline moni-
toring program and until such time as waste acceptance is initiated at
the site, the following routine annual sampling and analytical program
is recommended for Wells G-1, G-2, and G-3 (when installed):
• pH
• Electrical conductivity
PJ9 9390207.00D
14
• Chloride
• Nitrate
