E
E
E
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The proposed North County Sanitary Landfill (NCSL) is situated approximately
9.5 miles east of the City of Lodi and 1.5 miles east of the existing Harney Lane
Sanitary Landfill (see Figure 1-1). A geologic/hydrogeologic investigation, slope
stability analysis, and preliminary siting report have been completed for the site to
determine whether the new site will meet local, state, and federal regulations
governing the disposal of nonhazardous solid waste. The NCSL will have a
waste disposal capacity of approximately 17,300,000 cubic yards and a service
life of 36 years.
This Report of Waste Discharge (ROWD) has been prepared in accordance with
the California Code of Regulations (CCR), Title 23, Chapter 3, Subchapter 15. It
contains information regarding site and waste characteristics, landfill design and
operations, and closure and postclosure maintenance. A Subchapter 15 cross
reference table, Table 1-1, has been prepared that will enable the reader to lo-
cate information requested in Title 23, Subchapter 15 of the California Code of
Regulations (CCR). If any information required by any Subchapter 15 section
identified in Table 1-1 changes, the discharger must notify the RWQCB
(Section 2590[a][4] of Subchapter 15).
1
