E
E
E
A postclosure maintenance program will be prepared according to CWMB
requirements and implemented at the landfill upon closure to verify that
containment and monitoring facilities retain their integrity. The program will
include provisions for the routine evaluation of surface drainage control facilities,
final vegetated soil cover areas, ground -water monitoring facilities, and access
roads. Cracks in the final cover will be sealed. Any erosion damage caused by
extremely heavy rainfall will be repaired. Temporary berms, ditches, and straw
mulch will be used to prevent further erosion damage to soil cover areas until
weather conditions permit replacing eroded soil and reseeding. Such actions
should preclude problems associated with leachate generation due to infiltration
of surface water, gas venting through the cover at unacceptable locations, and
insects and rodents that could be attracted by exposed refuse after closure.
The ground -water, leachate, and landfill gas monitoring programs for the site will
continue in cooperation with the RWOCB and the CWMB.
PJ9 9390218A.00W 67 Rev. 0 July 20, 198S
