1.0 INTRODUCTION
The existing Harney Lane Sanitary Landfill, owned and operated by San Joaquin
County, is approximately 8 miles east of the City of Lodi. In 1985, its estimated
remaining waste capacity was 1,600,000 cubic yards with a service life of ap-
proximately 5 years.1 In 1986, the County purchased a 320-acre parcel located
approximately 1.5 miles east of the existing landfill and proposed developing it to
replace the existing Harney Lane facility. The North County Sanitary Landfill
(NCSL) will have a waste disposal capacity of approximately 17,300,000 cubic
yards and a service life of 36 years.
This Report of Disposal Site Information (RDSI) is being prepared to verify that
the proposed landfill will meet the safety, design, and operation requirements
established in Title 14, Section 17616 of the California Code of Regulations
(CCR). A Title 14 cross reference table has been prepared which includes the
guidelines for report writing established by the California Waste Management
Board (CWMB) on January 26-27, 1989. Table 1-1 will enable the reader to lo-
cate information requested in Section 17616.
The existing landfill could reach capacity as early as September 1990.
PJ9 9390219A.00W 1 Rev.
