SECTION 10 <br /> SPECIAL <br /> I. COORDINATION WITH ENGINEER AND INSPECTORS <br /> 1. Documenting that the project is constructed in accordance with the contract is <br /> of the essence in this contract. Work performed without inspection when <br /> inspection is required will be rejected and the Contractor shall repeat the work <br /> with proper inspection. <br /> 2. The Contractor shall remove work found not to be acceptable at his cost and <br /> with no additional time allowed for this work. <br /> J. ACCESS <br /> 1. Contractor shall access the landfills through the main access gates. The front <br /> gate on Waverly Rd is the main access gate to the Foothill Landfill. The front <br /> ' gate on Harney Lane is the main access gate to the North County Landfill. <br /> 2. Access to some drilling locations will require the contractor to remove a <br /> section of barbed wire fence. All fence removed shall be re-constructed after <br /> well installation. <br /> 3. Access to wells SG-11 and SG-12 at the North County Landfill will be through <br /> the neighbor's property (Nestor Enterprises). Contractor shall cut fence to <br /> allow access into County. property in the presence of the Engineer, and shall <br /> ' replace disturbed fence to a condition equal or better than that disturbed. <br /> Contractor shall not disturb any other portion of the Nestor property. <br /> K. MITIGATION AREA RESTRICTION AT NORTH COUNTY LANDFILL <br /> 1. Mitigation Area Restrictions apply to work at certain wells, as identified in the <br /> construction drawings, due to proximity to wetland areas. At wells subject to <br /> Mitigation Area Restrictions Contractor shall: <br /> a. Remove soil cuttings. Such soils shall be taken to the active landfill <br /> face and placed as directed by the Landfill Site Foreman. <br /> b. Contain wash water contaminated with cement. Such wash water <br /> may be spread on road areas within the landfill sites as identified by <br /> the Landfill Site foreman. <br /> c. Place straw wattle continuously around the wells at a distance of 10 <br /> feet. Stake wattles four feet on center. <br /> 10-3 <br />
