The drainage features described in the Preliminary Closure and Postclosure Maintenance Plan
(PCPCMP) (Appendix B) were designed to accommodate a 100 -year 24-hour storm event. The
PCPCMP includes 12 -foot wide drainage channels along the landfill perimeter to handle storm
water runoff from the landfill.
Most rainwater is delivered to the Interim Sedimentation Pond. Other storm water collects in the
depressed areas from which soil is excavated in preparation for the next areas. This water is
pumped from those depressed areas into surface drainage features, generally for delivery to the
interim sedimentation pond (Plate 3 and Appendix B).
4.2.6 Wind Rose
The mean annual wind speed is 8.3 miles per hour in a westerly direction (Plate 11). Monthly
predominant wind direction varied between southeast in January, February, and December and
west during the remaining months.
9 4.3 GEOLOGY
Information presented in this Section is based on the Geologic and Hydrogeologic Report,
Proposed Landfill Development Site, San Joaquin, County, California, dated September 1987,
revised January 1988 and recent landfill gas probe and groundwater monitoring well boring logs
(Appendix C).
21750(f) of Title 27 requires dischargers to assess the geologic condition of the site including:
• The geologic setting
• Faults, seismicity, and seismic hazards
• Groundwater hydrogeology
North County RC&SL Page 16 of 68 Public Works/Solid Waste
Joint Technical Document County of San Joaquin — October 10, 2014
