0 9 PRELIMINARY CLOSURE AND POSTCLOSURE MAINTENANCE PLAN <br />C <br />11 <br />9.1 PRELIMINARY CLOSURE AND POSTCLOSURE MAINTENANCE PLAN <br />An updated preliminary closure and postclosure maintenance plan (January 7, 2010) was <br />prepared to reflect changes in the landfill design, principally the increase in fill height to an <br />elevation 320 feet MSL (Appendix B). <br />9.2 FINANCIAL ASSURANCE <br />Financial assurance for closure is demonstrated by the maintenance of a Closure Enterprise <br />Fund. As of August 2009, the North County Landfill component of that fund contained <br />$1.8 million (Appendix H). <br />Financial assurance for postclosure maintenance is demonstrated by a Pledge of Future <br />Revenue. <br />Financial assurance for operating liability is provided self-insurance. <br />Financial assurance for corrective action is provided by a Pledge of Future Revenue. <br />Financial assurance for non -water release corrective action is provided by Pledge of Future <br />Revenue for water release corrective action, the cost of which exceeds that of the non -water <br />release corrective action. <br />San Joaquin County submits, on a yearly basis, a letter to the regulatory agencies that includes <br />the status of financial assurance. <br />North County RC&SL <br />Joint Technical Document <br />Page 66 of 68 Public Works/Solid Waste <br />County of San Joaquin — October 10, 2014 <br />
