Groundwater samples are analyzed every 5 years for the following constituents of concern(COCl):
VOCs(Extended List) Semi-VOCs
Inorganics (Dissolved) Chlorinated Herbicides
Polychlorinated Biphenols Organophosphorus Pesticides
(PCBs)
Organochlorine Pesticides
Monitoring well elevations are taken quarterly. Hydrographs are included in the second semester and
annual report as directed by the current WDRs. These figures present the following elevations:
❑ Groundwater for each quarter
❑ Top and bottom of well screen
❑ Pump intake
Storm Water
Storm water is collected from stormwater discharge points, located around the Solid Waste Management
Unit at strategic locations. When discharge occurs, it is likely to be from the north western portion of
the Unit or from the Interim Sedimentation Pond. Discharges at these points are through culverts, with
the discharge controlled by valves.
Surface Water
Surface water is sampled at upstream monitoring point S-1 and downstream monitoring point S-2
(Figure 3)when water is flowing. Samples are collected after the first storm of the rainy season that
produces significant flow, and quarterly thereafter when water is flowing.
Surface water samples are analyzed for the following semi-annual field and monitoring parameters:
Temperature Total Alkalinity
Electrical Conductivity (EC) Total Hardness
pH Chemical Oxygen Demand(COD)
Turbidity Volatile Organic Compounds (Short List)
Dissolved Oxygen(DO) Chloride
Total Dissolved Solids (TDS)
Surface water samples are also analyzed for the following(COCs) every 5 years.
VOCs (Extended List) Semi-VOCs
Inorganics (Dissolved) Chlorinated Herbicides
Polychlorinated Biphenols Organophosphorus Pesticides
(PCBs)
Organochlorine Pesticides
North County RC&SL Public Works/Solid Waste
2nd Semester and Annual 2012 Groundwater Monitoring 4 County of San Joaquin—January 15,2013
