Following is
information required by our Waste Discharge Requirements (WDR) Section H7:
a) This report presents data from July through December 2013. Groundwater monitoring
continues on a semi-annual basis in accordance with our WDRs. Also, the last
monitoring report was submitted in July 2013, presenting data from January through
June 2013.
b) There were no WDR violations during this reporting period. Conditions of the
groundwater are unremarkable, and consistent with previous quarters. Groundwater
contamination by the landfill is not indicated. Concentration limits were not exceeded at
any well except for turbidity in newly-installed well G-5A.
c) With the exception of false positives and similar sporadically reported compounds from
lab or other contamination, VOC impact has not been indicated at well G-4 (the
"impacted" well) since January 2003, ten years ago. All other groundwater wells
continue to be free of VOCs since monitoring began. Because this landfill is in full
compliance with the WDRs, no corrective action is contemplated at this time.
Full groundwater monitoring continues on a semi-annual basis (first and third quarters) in
accordance with our Waste Discharge Requirements. Supplemental VOC analysis of
groundwater continues on a semi-annual basis (second and third quarters) in accordance with
the revised Report of Waste Discharge.
VOCs, usually in low concentrations, were found in most soil gas wells, which is not a violation
of California regulations. The continuing presence of VOCs in the soil gas within our property
and the continuing lack of VOCs in groundwater at any well seem to indicate that the presence
of VOCs in the soil at these concentrations is a benign condition that does not threaten the
groundwater at this site.
