ON
1. Depth to ground water in this area is at least
• 150 feet. '
w
2. The site is located on stream channel deposits which
are highly permeable.
3. The maximum discharge recorded in Corral Hollow Creek near
a
the disposal site during the period 1958 thru 1966 was 145 crs.
k. Ground water within 1 mile of the disposal site would be
classified as Class II (good to injurious) or Class III (injurious
to unsatisfactory) irrigation water.
5. A field examination of the site ca May 11, 1970, -indicated
the following:
a. There is a problem from wind at this site. Paper products
have been deposited all along the fence line of Interstate Highway
N=ber 5 on the east side of the site. Also, the bottom of Corral-
H®lloar Creek has significant amounts of paper in it. We recomme^.d
a '
that your Board adopt a requirement that will require the discharger
to maintain adequate facilities to contain all— refuse on his property.
b. Cn the southwest'. Fart of the disposal site, there is a pond
of at least one acre that appears to contain oil or gas well drilling
muds. This pond contains a significant amount of. oil floating on
top of the drilling muds. The. pcnd has less than one foot of free
board and if allowed to overflow, it would drain towards Corral
s •
Hollow Creek. This site should be evaluated to see what amounts
of drilling mud.and/or oil (if any) could be accepted without i
causing a water pollution problem.
c. On the northwest side of the drilling mud pond, a significant .
amount (several hundred) ofpesticide containers have been deposited.
—2-
