F will be flushed for 24 hours by sampling a source of air which has had the organics removed by passage through a carbon filter. ±15 minutes of each other over a 24-hour period, the timer settings will be adjusted and rechecked. • Leak check - The sampler will be checked for loose fittings and leaks. Ambient air samples will be collected over a 24-hour period. Each sam- ple will be obtained at a height of 9 feet above the ground and col- lected in the prescribed 10 -liter Tedlar bag. The samples will be removed from the samplers immediately after the 24-hour period and ana- lyzed within 72 hours. Sampling instructions are as follows. Begin sampling with the following steps. • Open the shutoff valve at the probe inlet. • Before attaching the sample bag to the sampler, activate the sampler pump; allow sufficient time for warm-up. • Set the widest spherical point of the flow meter's black glass ball at 24.3 by adjusting the pressure valve. This setting will maintain a flow rate of 0.006 liter/minute according to the flow rate curve. • Turn off the sampler pump. • Attach the bag inlet to the sampler outlet. Be sure that the bag valve is in the open position (valve stem pushed in and lock screw tightened). • Record the sample start information as required on the data sheet. PJI 9390301 13 0 • Flow meter - The flow meter will be kept at a constant flow rate through a 24-hour sampling period by the use of a pressure adjustment valve. The flow rate will be checked and documented daily during use. • Timer - Two timers will be used at the site. The timers will be checked against each other.
