2594. wa--tim Characteristics
The site currently receives approximately 1000 cubic yards of
municipal solid waste a day. This waste is generally residential,
commercial, construction, demolition, agricultural and tires.
Hazardous and liquid wastes are not accepted.
The trench method of landfilling has been used at the site. This has
involved the filling of large trenches with waste. Current operations '
involve landfilling the last of these large pits which has been
'
excavated to a base elevation. Cellular filling of this pit is now
taking place. '
The cellular construction used at the site employs constructing lifts '
of waste with continual compaction taking place by a landfill
compactor during waste placement. At the end of each day, a minimum
Of six inches of cover soil is placed and compacted over the waste.

^
^
After landfilling of the current remaining pit at the site,
additional lifts of waste will be placed over remaining
portions of the site to bring it to final closure grades. '
Information on the quantities of waste to be disposed of and
construction details are contained in a report Titled "Closure and
Postclosure Plan, Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill, San Joaquin County,
M
