C
r
Show the locations of test borings on the plan.
Describe surface and cover soils using the Unified Soils
Classification system (USCS). .Test borings must extend
at least 5 feet below the depth of the proposed disposal
areas. Soils, geology, and groundwater data must be
provided by qualified staff or consultants..
90) Description of all surface and subsurface drains which are
to be used to control water from areas on, or adjacent to
the disposal site. The location and type of protective
dikes, berms, and levees shall be described.
The locations of primary drains, berms, etc., should be
shown on the plan. The design basis of drainage
control devices is to be given; this may require the
determination of typical runoff coefficients and runoff
volumes for 100 year flood conditions.
99} If leachate generation is anticipated, describe the method
of monitoring, collection, treatment, and necessary
disposal.
If leachate barriers are proposed, describe their
length, width, depths, and design characteristics.
Show the locations on the plan. Describe monitoring
and sampling procedures. Indicate whether barriers are
in place or to be installed. Estimate the volume of
leachate to be handled and the manner of removal from
the control barrier system (periodic pumping, etc.).
Indicate the manner of treatment and point of discharge
of treated leachate.
