Numerous inspections by Local Health District (LHD) sited
violations for lack of daily and intermediate cover and also a rodent
problem. The rodent problem stemmed primarily from open cannery
wastes in a pit. Attachment B is a copy of an inspection map by LHD
from 1972.
b. Inspection by California Air Resources Board (CARB) in Feb.
1978 mentioned open burning at the site complained about by passerbVs.
Violations cited during the inspection listed lack of cover and
smoldering fires under fill cower.
* Late 1965- Deed stating half interest by City/County. See
0 Attachment C for cop\, of description (note 33.74 acres)
* 1959- Agreement between County and City of Tracy: 1. City to
N operate 2. free of charge 3. half expenses for operation =$6,358
4. etc.
N * November 1958- Mention is made of repairing Corral Hollow Road
extension into the site, which appears to correspond to straight line
north south portion to "dump ground" extending beneath current site of
Highway 580.
' Reference is also made to procurement of additional acreage which
appears to be "new refuse dump". (See attachment D). This is same
N parcel mentioned above in late 1965 item and referred to in Attachment
C.
* Reference is made to an agreement dated Jan. 16, 1950 between the
w County and City of Tracy for the site. (This is the oldest reference
in County files other than a Title check relative to Attachment C
which was an oil and gas lease in 1936 between a private party,
N Nerlinger and Coast Exploration Company)
NOTE: Current County Assessor Map #253-030 is Attachment A for
I reference to properties in question.
