III. SITE EXPANSION DESCRIPTION There is no expansion planned for the Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill. Future landfilling will take place on the 45 acres currently permitted and will consist of filling of the last remaining pit and then placing refuse above areas which already have received waste to bring these areas to final grade. The final grades and scheduling for completion of the four Modules for site completion are contained in the Closure Plan for the site. A. Location and access: The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill site location is shown on Figure 1. The site is comprised of approximately 45 acres located on Corral Hollow Road near Interstate Route 580, approximately 5 miles south of Tracy. Site access is from Corral Hollow Road. Information on site access, security and signing is contained in Section 2. 1, "Disposal Site Improvements", of the Operations Plan for the site. B. Topography: Information on site topography is contained in section 2595(d) of the RWD. C. Vegetation and wildlife: Existing vegetation at the site generally consists of native vegetation which is nonirrigated and flourishes in the rainy season. Land in the area and also on-site, outside of the fenced area containing landfilling operations, is open land or used for grazing of livestock. Existing wildlife on-site and in the region generally consists of small mammals and bird life. Future vegetation as areas of the landfill are closed will consist of drought and erosion resistant grasses which will be planted in the vegetative layer of the final cover. Future wildlife at the site and in the region is expected to be the same as the existing wildlife. D. Climate: Information on climate is contained in Section 2595(e) of the RWD. Applicable subsections are referenced in the required engineering review items below. 18
