Recommendations to improve the existing fencing at the
site and litter control procedures are contained in
Section XIII.
7. Wet and dry season active face and tipping pad
locations:
Locations for wet and dry season tipping pads will be
chosen such that drainage of the pad is away from fill
areas toward perimeter drainage.
E. Drainage:
1. Flooding, floodplains and watersheds:
The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill is located northwest of
Corral Hollow Creek near Interstate Route 580. The watershed
for Corral Hollow Creek was mapped by the San Joaquin County
Flood Control and Water Conservation District. Copies of these
maps (Sheet Nos. 1 and 2) are included as Figure 2.
Figure 2 also shows the location of the Corral Hollow Sanitary
Landfill on sheet 1. As shown on the maps, the Corral Hollow
Creek watershed is an area of approximately 50 to 60 square miles
which drains hills to the west of the valley via tributary
streams and Corral Hollow Creek. The landfill area of 45 acres
drains to Corral Hollow Creek at the eastern edge of the hills.
The elevations of the high point of the watershed and Corral
Hollow Creek in the area of the landfill is approximately
U.S.G.S. datum elevations 3000 and 250 respectively. As depicted
on Figure 2, the landfill drainage compromises a very small
amount of the. total watershed drainage quantity.
2. Ditches, channels and storm drain ponds:
The drainage control facilities to be constructed as part of
closure operations for the site are described in the section
titled "Drainage Control" of the Closure Plan. The details for
construction of these facilities are shown on the Closure plan
drawings. The system is generally comprised of perimeter "V"
ditches and an overside drain, which both empty in to the Corral
Hollow Creek for terminal drainage.
3 . Water Table:
Regional and local round water occurrence and movement are
g g
described in Section 2.4 of the GWSWAT for the site. Copies of
the GWSWAT for the landfill were submitted to the CWMB and LEA
on September 7, 1988. Copies of the transmittals documenting
20
