VI. CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN
The conceptual development plan for the Corral Hollow Sanitary
Landfill is described in the Closure Plan for the site. This
plan includes site design drawings as Appendix B of the RWD dated
June 1988. A copy of this RWD is included as Appendix C of this
engineering review and is referenced throughout applicable
sections.
A. Site capacity and operational life:
The site capacity as of June 1987 was estimated in the Closure
Plan at 798,000 cubic yards (in-place) with the site life to
closure extending to January 1993.
B. Earthwork and location of advancing excavation area and
soil borrow pits:
As indicated in the Closure Plan for the landfill, the final pit
is being filled with refuse. This pit will be filled to the
level of adjacent existing in-place refuse as Module 1, which is
estimated for completion in January 1991. Subsequent landfill
modules will be constructed over in-place refuse.
No borrow pits will be constructed at the site. The soils used
for operations and final closure of the site will be imported.
C: Surface and underground drainage, erosion and sedimentation
control:
Information on drainage, erosion and sedimentation control is
contained on page 9 of the Closure Plan for the site, which is
contained as B to the RWD for the site. The RWD is included as
Appendix C of this Engineering Review.
D: Leachate control and monitoring:
Information on leachate control is contained on page 9 of the
Closure Plan for the site, which is contained as B to the RWD
for the site. The RWD is included as Appendix C of this
Engineering Review.
E. Landfill gas control and monitoring:
Information on landfill gas generation, control and monitoring
is contained on pages 6 through 8 of the Closure Plan for the
site, which is contained as B to the RWD for the site. The RWD
29
