INTRODUCTION
The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill is located in southwest San
Joaquin County approximately 5 miles south of the City of Tracy
on Corral Hollow Road near State Highway No. 580. A vicinity map
showing the site location is shown as Figure 1.
The site property is currently owned jointly by the City of
Tracy and San Joaquin County. It is operated as a Class II-2
sanitary landfill by the City of Tracy under Solid Waste Facility
Permit Number 39-AA-005 issued by the San Joaquin Local Health
District, and Waste Discharge Requirement Order Number 75-115,
issued by the California Regional Water Quality Control Board,
Central Valley Region (RWQCB) . Under these documents the site
has 45 acres permitted for landfilling. A copy of the Solid
Waste Facilities Permit for the landfill is contained in Appendix
A.
Following is an updated Report of Disposal Site Information
(RDSI) for the Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill. This RDSI was
prepared at the request of the California Waste Management Board
(CWMB) according to a letter dated May 16, 1988 from the CWMB, to
the City of Tracy. A copy of this letter is contained in
Appendix B.
In addition to the updated RDSI contained in this report, the
CWMB requested that an Engineering Review be prepared for the
site pursuant to Section 17751 of Title 14 of the California Code
of Regulations, and that both reports be submitted to the Local
Enforcement Agency (LEA) by October 1, 1988, along with an
application for permit review. The County Public Works
Department received a 60 day extension for the CWMB filing
deadline from the LEA. (All further reference to the LEA in this
RDSI will refer to the San Joaquin Local Health District) . A
copy of the letter from the LEA, dated September 15, 1988,
granting the 60 day extension is contained in Appendix B.
To comply with the CWMB request, the San Joaquin County
Department of Public Works prepared both the updated RDSI and the
Engineering Review for the landfill concurrently. These reports
are combined in a Report of Facility Information (RFI) . The
following RDSI is Part Two of the RFT and the Engineering Review
is part One of the RFI. Much of the information discussed in
both reports is similar, however the Engineering Review is more
comprehensive and also contains an evaluation section. Since
the Engineering Review describes much of the information required
for the RDSI, the RDSI refers to Sections of the Engineering
Review where the information would be repetitive. The
Engineering Review and RDSI also share the same Appendices of the
RFI.
The engineering review and following RDSI for the landfill are
3
