5. EMERGENCY REMOVAL CONSIDERATIONS
A continuous detection monitoring program in compliance with Title 23,
Chapter 3, Subchapter 15 of the California Administrative Code is
currently in place at the site (3). It appears that soil beneath the
site may be contaminated with trichloroethane and toluene. If it is
determined that hazardous chemicals pose a threat to the aquifer of
concern, RWQCB will require the County and City of Tracy to provide an
alternate safe drinking water source (18). It appears, therefore, that
emergency removal action is not currently warranted at the Corral Hollow
Sanitary Landfill.
5-1
sa/tm/chl/si
