CONTACT REPORT
AGENCY/AFFILIATION: Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board
DEPARTMENT .
ADDRESS/CITY:
COUNTY/STATE/ZIP: Sacramento, California
CONTACT(S) TITLE PHONE
1. Jeff Tucker Engineer 916/361-5737
2.
E & E PERSON MAKING CONTACT: Sandra Szabat DATE: 11/07/88
SUBJECT: Groundwater
SITE NAME: Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill EPA ID#: CAD980637060
Final SWAT Report was approved in July 1988. There are 5 monitor wells on-site
(not including SB-1). One well (MW-1) contained 19 ppl of bis (2-ethylhexyl
phthalate) in May 1988. This is apparently a common laboratory contaminant.
This is the deep downgradient well, located in the northeast corner of the site.
The perched aquifer under the landfill apparently does not extend throughout the
entire landfill, being limited only to the north end. Shallow groundwater is
mounded, causing a gradient to the northwest and the southeast. The deep
aquifer flows to the southeast.
Waste Discharge Requirements for the landfill will be re-written in early 1989
and will probably require quarterly groundwater monitoring.
r/tm/corral/cr
