The rapid <br /> decomposition phase of the process will take approximately 12 weeks. The curing phase of the <br /> composting process will take approximately 8 weeks <br /> Sr,E=ning - Finished compost will be screened based on the product to be produced. <br /> S - Finished compost products are moved to a storage area or shipped off-site. <br /> The Composting Facility is a part of the Tracy Materials Recovery & Transfer Facility. In <br /> addition to the above described operations, the facility will be planned and developed with <br /> various functional areas. The following activities and/or functional areas are included within <br /> this facility: <br /> Sorting of non-hazardous solid Emit,and/or collected recvclables: container and papers obtained <br /> from a curbside collection program in the City of Tracy will be received at the facility and <br /> processed. In addition selected loads of solid waste may be sorted for separation of recyclables. <br /> Transfer area for e =W11 of residualresidualwaste to landfill: residential, commercial, and <br /> _ the <br /> industrial non-processable wastes will be received at the facility, unloaded onto the tipping floor, <br /> any recyclables or materials which should not be landfilled will be sorted out on the floor, and <br /> the remaining wastes moved by rubber-tired loader to the transfer trucks for landfill disposal. <br /> Processing of the recyclables from sorting and curbside collection programs: source separated <br /> and buy back recyclables, will be processed at sort lines and baled or stored in bins or bunkers <br /> for transfer off-site for reuse. <br /> Administration and maintenance area: an administration and maintenance building will be <br /> provided for both the operation of the MRF/Transfer Facility and for the refuse collection <br /> operations. This will include offices and work areas for management personnel and <br /> administrative employees, restrooms, conference rooms, storage areas, vehicle maintenance <br /> bays, paint booth and truck/equipment wash area. <br /> Truck parking: an area will be provided for bin storage and for parking of collection trucks and <br /> transfer trailers. Included in this area will be fuel tanks, a fueling island and a truck wash area. <br /> Gatehouse and truck scales: a gatehouse and two 10 foot by 70 foot truck scales will be <br /> provided in the main access road.
