NPDES permits, hazardous waste characteristic testing per RCRA and California Title
22 for industrial waste streams. Hazwoper certified personnel perform various field
sampling and courier services.
CAS/Phoenix, Arizona has both fixed and mobile laboratory capabilities. Most of
the work performed by the Phoenix laboratory is in response to various state-specific
regulatory programs, particularly groundwater monitoring and state Superfund sites.
Phoenix also operates as a service center to meet the specific needs of its clients in
Arizona and other southwestern states. Although samples may be networked to
other CAS laboratories, CAS/Phoenix offers all the services of a full service
laboratory including priority turnaround times, electronic data deliverables and other
special requirements. They also offer explosives testing services.
t
The mobile laboratory stationed in Phoenix is staffed with chemists specifically trained
i
in field analytical methods who maintain the required 40-hour OSHA training
certification that allows them to perform services on hazardous waste sites. The
mobile laboratory can generate preliminary results on site, usually within a few hours of
sample receipt, thus eliminating any delays due to shipping or laboratory capacity. j
CAS/Houston, Texas is a laboratory dedicated to dioxin and dioxin related analyses
with three high-resolution gas chromatographs/high-resolution mass spectrometers
(HRGC/HRMS). Houston performs these analyses on a variety of sample matrices:
food products, food additives, PUF cartridges, XAD resins/filters, household dust, wipe
samples, sediments, animal/marine tissues, paper, incinerator ash, soil, waste water,
drinking water, and solid waste. Methodologies employed by CAS/Houston include:
EPA 8290, EPA 8280A, EPA 1668 (PCB congeners), EPA 1613B, EPA T09 (ambient
air), EPA 23 (stack testing). Technical consulting on dioxin and other recalcitrant
compounds is also available.
CAS/Jac
ksonville, Florida is a full service analytical laboratory providing testing for
many industrial, government and consulting firms in the southeastern United States.
The laboratory, as others in the network, also serves international clients, having the
necessary permits to accept foreign water and soils into the country for analysis. C
The laboratory's technical expertise includes the analysis of routine environmental
samples, landfill samples, DOD projects and waste stream characterization.
