Dem Aquifer
The groundwater elevations at MW-6 and MW-7 indicate that groundwater flow is northeasterly
from MW-7 to MW-6 (Figure 3). The average calculated groundwater velocity is 1.53 ft/yr based
on a gradient of 0.0055 foot per foot. The water levels in the deep aquifer do not show a rise,
demonstrating that recharge from the rising levels in the shallow aquifer are not factor in the deep
aquifer. This indicates that impacts present in the shallow aquifer are hydraulically isolated from
the deep aquifer
STANDARD OBSERVATIONS
Site inspections were performed regularly during the quarter. A monthly summary of site
observations is enclosed (Appendix H). An electronic signature on the form certifies that the
observations were performed and are accurate.
RUN-OFF/RUN-ON FACILITIES
The CHSL utilizes several facilities to control run-on and run-off. A road at thep erimeter of the
site assists in preventing run-on. A mid-slope berm around the unit directs run-off into the
retention pond in the northwest corner of the site, and perimeter ditches at the base of the unit
direct run-off into the retention pond in the south-east corner of the site. During the second
quarter there were no breeches in the run-off/run-on facilities. Monitoring will continue in
accordance with the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan.
Corral Hollow Landfill 10 Department of Public Works/Solid Waste
2nd quarter 2007 Groundwater Monitoring County of San Joaquin—July 31,2007
