Specifically,
this Report includes:
• A description of measures that have been taken to provide and maintain, to the extent
possible, continuous negative pressure in each landfill gas extraction well for each
interval monitored.
• Certification by an independent third party (SCS Engineers) that those measures have
been fully implemented.
• An Operational Procedures Document that describes on-going procedures that will be
implemented to ensure that landfill gas extraction is continuously optimized.
We were pleased that the independent third party (SCS Engineers)found that the County is
preventing landfill gas, to the extent possible, from entering groundwater throughout the entire
footprint of the landfill and surrounding vadose zone to and beneath the landfill. In particular,
the system maintained negative pressure at each extraction point during this monitoring interval.
Further, the evaluation found no indication that the LFG extraction components were
compromised or that major repairs or modifications are warranted to maintain existing gas
extraction capabilities at this time. This evaluation included the newly-installed wells.
We will continue to operate the LFG extraction system to optimize collection of landfill gas
continually, to the greatest extent possible, on an on-going basis.
