J <br />APPENDIX A <br />SECTION 02670 <br />MONITORING WELL INSTALLATION, SOIL GAS AND HYDROPUNCH SAMPLING <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 SUMMARY <br />A. Section Includes: <br />1. <br />Monitoring Well Construction <br />2. <br />Monitoring Well Development <br />3. <br />Vadose zone soil gas sampling <br />4. <br />Hydropunch sampling <br />5. <br />Surface Completion <br />1.02 PROJECT LOCATION AND ACCESS <br />A. The Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill (CHSL) is located in southern San Joaquin <br />County at the intersection of Interstate 580 and Corral Hollow Road as shown on <br />Figure 1. This work is being completed to evaluate the extent of volatile organic <br />compound (VOC) impact in the shallow zone. <br />B. The well location is shown on Figure 2 and boring locations are shown on <br />Figure 3. <br />1.03 EXISTING SITE CONDITIONS <br />A. Data from previous site investigations indicate that the lithology beneath the site in <br />the shallow water -bearing zone consists of interbedded silts, sands, clays and <br />gravels. A copy of existing shallow well MW -5 log is attached. <br />B. Work shall be considered complete when all construction materials, debris, and <br />equipment are removed from the sites, and the boring locations are left in a clean <br />condition. During the boring and well construction process, all debris shall be <br />disposed of in a Contractor provided container, or removed from the site, and the <br />site left in a neat and orderly condition on a daily basis. <br />1.05 SITE SAFETY <br />A. The drilling contractor (Contractor) shall be solely responsible for initiating, <br />maintaining, and supervising all safety precautions, in compliance with the OSHA, <br />state, and local regulations.
