Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfall * ration Monitoring Wells Page 1 of 6
Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]
From: Michael Carroll [mcarroll@sjgov.org]
Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2007 10:31 AM
To: Todd Del Frate
Cc: Natalia Subbotnikova [EH]; Robert McClellon [EH]; gyekta@ciwmb.ca.gov
Subject: Corral Hollow Sanitary Landfill Migration Monitoring Wells
Attachments: CH-4th Qtr 2006.xls
Good morning Todd,
Robert McClellon was kind enough to forward to me the email regarding our Corral Hollow Landfill, and I
appreciate the opportunity to clarify a few points and to correct any incorrect impression that may have been left.
As far as I know, only one probe of one migration monitoring well is plugged (GW-1-deep), by submergence
below the water table. This has been documented by television inspection and reported previously. We would be
pleased to investigate any other probes that might be in question at the request of CIWMB, RWQCB, or
Environmental Health Department staff. Let me know, and we'll get right on it.
As you requested, we will include the monitoring data of our combustible gas migration monitoring wells in all
future reports to the RWQCB. I have also attached the last quarter's landfill gas migration monitoring. This
spreadsheet is the download of the field data from SCS's GEM datalogger. Do you want any past data? We can
send it right up.
These data had not been included previously because the WDRs require monitoring VOCs, not the major
gasses. We focus our reports to each agency based on the requirements of the site identified in that agency's
permit, trying our best to keep our reports concise and not burden our regulators with information that seems
extraneous. The information is easy to include, and we certainly would have included it if we had known of your
concern.
We can also send by email, fax, or Federal Express any information we have that is not in our quarterly reports,
and also include any information you want in the reports. Just let us know in advance, and it will be there.
Please do not hesitate to call with any questions or any other concerns, and we will do our best to address them
immediately.
Best regards,
Mike
W. Michael Carroll, PE
Senior Civil Engineer, Solid Waste Division
1810 E. Hazelton Ave.
Stockton, CA 95205
3/28/2007
