ELDORADO STREET
STOCKTON, CA 95202-1997
September 30, 1992
E
California Integrated Waste Management Board
8800 Cal Center Drive
Sacramento, Ca 95826
CERTIFICATION FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A FINANCIAL MECHANISM
FOR THE CLOSURE AND POSTCLOSURE MAINTENANCE OF THE FRENCH CAMP
LANDFILL
The City of Stockton Public Works Department is herein
submitting the subject certification for the French Camp
Landfill (Solid Waste Facilities Permit No. 39 -AA -0002). The
City of Stockton is the owner of the French Camp Landfill and
retains responsibility for closure and for postclosure
maintenance. On February 15, 1989, the Public Works
Department submitted to the Board initial cost estimates for
closure and postclosure maintenance and accompanying
certification for this landfill. Submittal of the enclosed
certification of a financial mechanism for closure and
postclosure maintenance of the French Camp completes all
required documentation for this landfill related to financial
assurances for closure and postclosure maintenance.
On September 21, 1992, the City Council, the governing
administrative authority for the City of Stockton, officially
established the French Camp Landfill Closure/Postclosure
Maintenance Fund, an enterprise fund to be used exclusively
for closure and postclosure maintenance of the subject
landfill. Annual deposits as required be Title 14, California
Code of Regulations, Division 7, Chapter 5, Article 3.5, will
be made to the Fund so that an amount equal to the current
closure cost estimate for the French Camp Landfill is
available at the time of closure. Official documentation of
the establishment of this Fund is enclosed.
