PUBLIC
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY a %
J061 KHANNA M.D.,M.P.H.
Health Officer
P.O. Box 2009 • (1601 East Hazelton Avenue) • Stockton, Califomia 95201 F o A
(209) 468-3400
April 30, 1993
Mike Miller
City of Stockton
Public Works Department
425 N. E1 Dorado Street, Room 317
Stockton, CA 95202
Re: 39-AA-0002, French Camp inspection on April 6, 1993
Violation #17703
This letter is in response to a telephone call from Mike Miller of
City of Stockton to James Miller of EHD regarding removal of high
weeds from the French Camp Landfill.
At the current time the grasses are green and growing rapidly. Due
to the moisture content of this grass from the spring rains the
fire hazard is negligible. The concern is that the abundance of
green grass at this time will create an abundance of fuel by
summer.
The inspection report of 4/6/93 was a reflection of this concern.
The intention of citing CCR Section 17703 was to begin mitigation
procedures now so that the fire hazard would be under control and
in compliance with local fire code by summer.
I apologize for any miscommunication or confusion this may have
caused. Please call Steve Sasson of my staff at 468-3438 for
further information.
Fred Kaufman, Program Manager
Environmeptal Health Division
cc: Brad Williams
Phil Giambastiani
File
