(CDM)has <br /> prepared this letter in response to the San Joaquin County Environmental Health <br /> Division(SJCEHS) letter dated January 21, 1997(Attachment 1). Per our telephone <br /> conversation on January 21, 1997,CDM intends to construct all monitoring wells in <br /> accordance with the County Well Standards. All monitoring wells will be completed <br /> using a traffic-rated well box,as shown in the well detail attached to the monitoring <br /> well permit application submitted on January 17, 1997. CDM's responses to the <br /> aforementioned SJCEHS letter are provided below. <br /> Comment 1: Provide the information as requested for the subcontractor performing <br /> the work(handout enclosed),including Contractor License,Worker's <br /> Compensation Policy,and California Licensed Contractor <br /> Questionnaire. <br /> Response 1: The drilling Contractor that CDM has selected to install the monitoring <br /> wells is Western Strata Exploration,Inc. (Westex). Westex indicated to <br /> CDM that they have worked within the County and believe that the <br /> required information is on file with the SJCEHS. If the information is <br /> not in the SJCEHS' file,CDM will request Westex to complete and <br /> return the forms of the County. <br /> Comment 2: Disposal of the drill cuttings at the active face of the landfill shall be <br /> approved by the Enforcement Agency. <br /> Response 2: The drill cuttings disposal methodology is discussed in the attached <br /> letter from the City to the SJCEHS,dated January 21, 1996 <br /> (Attachment 2). <br />
