The enclosed Monitoring Report Compliance Checklists summarizes our <br /> comments on the report. The report is complete. <br /> This monitoring event confirmed the presence of trichlorofluoromethane in groundwater and <br /> also detected low levels of VOCs in all soil-pore gas samples. These results suggest that the <br /> recently installed landfill cover may be concentrating VOC landfill gas. Forward will collect <br /> quarterly groundwater and soil-pore gas samples through the first quarter 2008 to evaluate the <br /> significance of the observed increase in VOCs. <br /> Soil gas concentrations for methane, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and oxygen measured in the <br /> field do not correlate well with VOC concentrations measured in the Lab. The soil gas <br /> sampling protocol adopted in the Waste Discharge Requirements needs to be reevaluated <br /> before we begin relying entirely on field measurements. <br /> If you have any questions please call me at (916) 464-4614. <br /> Ross D.
