The results of water quality analyses completed for surface-water monitoring stations are
generally consistent with previous results. During the monitoring period, no VOCs were
detected in any of the surface water stations, and potassium was the only surface water
constituent that exceeded a concentration limit. However, review of the analytical data
indicates the presence of elevated potassium concentrations at both upstream and
downstream monitoring locations. It is believed that the concentration limit exceedance
for potassium at downstream location SW-3 may be due to a recent change in natural
surface water chemistry in the vicinity of the site. With the exception of turbidity at all
three surface-water samples and carbonate alkalinity at surface water stations SW-1 and
SW-3, no statistically significant increasing trends were noted. Since turbidity and
carbonate alkalinity exhibit statistically significant increasing trends in both upstream and
downstream surface water stations, these increasing trends are unlikely to be indicative of
an impact from the facility.
The field screening results from soil-pore gas monitoring probes indicates that no
methane was measured in soil-pore gas monitoring probes during the monitoring period.
7.0 REFERENCES
California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region, 2007, "Order
No. R5-2007-0046 Waste Discharge Requirements for Forward Inc.
