observations were conducted during the monitoring period and no areas of concern were
noted(see signed"Certification Statement"included in Appendix A).
3.0 SOLID WASTE MONITORING
The French Camp Landfill has been formally closed and no longer receives waste.
4.0 WATER QUALITY MONITORING
4.1 SAMPLING AND LABORATORY ANALYSES
With the exception of well MW-6A, all of the groundwater and leachate monitoring wells
and surface water monitoring points were sampled on September 11, 2012. MW-6A was
reported dry during the September 2012 sampling event. Quarterly depth-to-water and
stream gauging were performed on September 11 and November 17, 2012.
A single sample set was collected from each sampling point(groundwater, leachate, and
surface water) and analyzed by BC Laboratories for the parameters stipulated in RWQCB
Order No. R5-2007-0046, as summarized in Table 1. Water quality samples were also
analyzed in the field for oxidation-reduction potential, turbidity, temperature, specific
conductance, and pH and these field measurements were recorded on well data sheets.
The groundwater and leachate monitoring wells and surface water monitoring points
were sampled by Del-Tech Geotechnical Support Services(Del-Tech) in accordance with
the sampling and analysis procedures detailed in Appendix B. Well data sheets, raw
laboratory data, certificates of analyses, and chain-of-custody records for the sampling
program are included in Appendix C. The laboratory analyses and field results for
groundwater wells and surface water sampling stations are summarized in Tables 2
through 5.
4.2 QA/QC RESULTS
The quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC)program completed for the monitoring
event included analyses of one duplicate sample, one field blank sample, one trip blank
sample, and one laboratory method blank. Field and trip blanks are analyzed for VOCs
by EPA method 8260B. Laboratory method blanks are analyzed for all of the analytes
included in the monitoring program. During the monitoring period, no VOCs were
detected in blank samples. Trace concentrations of chloride and sodium were measured
in the laboratory method blank, though, these detections were at very low, trace
concentrations that did not affect the interpretation of primary sample results.
A duplicate sample was collected from leachate well MW-2 and was labeled Duplicate.
Duplicate test results are presented along with the primary data in Table 3. Comparison
of the primary and duplicate sample results, when both results are measurable
concentrations above the practical quantitation limit(PQL), indicates good agreement
with a relative percent difference of less than six percent. Review of sampling dates and
laboratory analytical certificates indicates that all of the laboratory analyses were
c:UO12-002TFc2sn12.aoe 2Geo-Logic /Associates
