A <br />Regulations <br />X <br />20750 - Site Maintenance <br />Comments: Some of the landfills areas were covered by overgrown vegetation which had made it impossible to <br />determine whether the cover was intact and functioning as it should. The overgrown vegetation could pose a fire <br />hazard. <br />- Operator should maintain the vegetation at a minimum, so that site cover inspection could easily be conducted <br />and to prevent surface fires from taking place which could cause a threat to public health and safety and the <br />environment. <br />x <br />20919.5 - Explosive Gas Control <br />Comments: Concentrations of gas probe measured the following for methane%: <br />GW 4 - Shallow - 0.0 Intermediate - 1.2 Deep - 3.0 <br />GW 6 - Shallow - 0.0 Intermediate - 0.0 Deep - 0.0 <br />GW 8 - Shallow - 0.0 Intermediate - 0.0 Deep - 0.0 <br />GW 9 - Shallow - 0.0 Intermediate - 0.0 Deep - 0.0 <br />- Methane gas levels of 5% (LEL) by volume of air at the property boundary constitute a violation. Take adequate <br />measures to decrease gas level at the property boundary. <br />x <br />20650 - Grading of Fill Surfaces <br />Comments: Low spots observed on the top of southeast side of primary site. Continuation of AC from the last <br />inspection. <br />- Grade the area to promote lateral runoff of water and prevent future ponding. <br />- Grades shall be established to provide sufficient slopes to account for future settlement of the fill surface. <br />x <br />21150 - Drainage / Erosion Control <br />Comments: Drainage at the north side of the secondary site did not appear to function as intended. Continuation <br />of violation from the previous inspections. <br />- Provide adequate drainage of runoff for the entire site. <br />Inspection <br />Report Comments: <br />Notes: <br />A. The landfill gas extraction flare was operating at time of insnection. <br />B. On June 12, 2010 grass fire from the neighboring property,�spread to the 1a Landfill. The south slope of the <br />secondary site was completely burned. The Linden Peters Fire Department extinguished the fire. The LFG flare system <br />wasn't impacted. <br />
