Results from the second quarter(1999) show two Volatile Organic Compound (VOC)
detections in MW-2 (dichlorodifluoromethane, tetrachloroethylene). Trend analysis showed no
evidence of a trend in the data. There were also two VOCs that were detected in the up gradient
well MW-l. The County believes these to be due to landfill gas influence. Recent repairs and
improvements to the gas system should allow more efficient collection of landfill gas near MW-1.
An increasing trend was indicated for Chloride in MW-2. Therefore, an intrawell tolerance limit was
not updated for Chloride in MW-2. All other constituents were within limits. Our sampling
consultant did not include well recovery times on field data sheets. They have, again, been notified
and will include recovery times in future reports.
This report was prepared to comply with current Waste Discharge Requirements Order No. 96-139.
If you have any questions, please call me at (209)468-3066.
Sincerely,
U
.y-
WE JOHNSON
Associate Civil Engineer
WJ:MK:rh
S.\W ES\HL\G W MON\2-991et
Enclosure
c: Robert McClellon, R.E.H.S., Public Health Services, Environmental Health Division
LA 64201
