SECTION 5 <br /> MISCELLANEOUS <br /> 5 .1 Pumping plant installations shall be designed for the <br /> 10-year storm. The design pumping head shall be based <br /> on the maximum flood water elevation in the receiving <br /> channel. <br /> 5 .2 The use of wells for disposal of storm waters will not <br /> c_ be permitted. <br /> 5 .3 Closed conduits shall be provided for the conveyance of <br /> all runoff originating within a development. <br /> 5 .4 Existing channels for the conveyance of storm water from <br /> outside a development area shall be placed in closed <br /> conduits where the flow can be conveyed in a pipe of 4 <br /> inches in diameter or less . <br /> 5 .5 Cross culverts shall be designed for the 10-year storm with <br /> no head. <br /> 5 .6 Valley gutters will not be permitted to drain storm water <br /> across street intersections . <br /> 5 .7 Inverted siphons may be approved to avoid conflicting <br /> utilities only where satisfactory alternates are not available. <br /> 5 .8 Connections into pipe lines will be permitted only at <br /> �- <br /> manholes . <br /> 5 .9 Manhole spacing shall not exceed 600 feet for pipes of 24 <br /> inches in diameter or greater, and 500 feet for pipes less <br /> than 24 inches in diameter. <br /> 5-1 <br />
