Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Subject: Cove Contractors Landfill
San Joaquin County, California
Dear Ms. Oz:
During our telephone conversation last Tuesday, I said I would provide you with a schedule for
submission of a Closure and Postclosure Maintenance Plan (CPCMP) for the Cove Contractors
Landfill. In a letter from Kleinfelder to you, dated April 29, 1994, I included two tables (a list of
applicable sections of Article 7.8 of Title 14 and a proposed Table of Contents for the Closure
and Postclosure Maintenance Plan). I understand from our conversation that preparing the
CPCMP in accordance with those tables will be acceptable. Preparation of the CPCMP will
require approximately eight weeks. Cove Contractors will submit the CPCMP on October 10,
1994.
You may not be aware that a new regulator has been assigned to the project at the CVRWQCB,
Ms. Gail Wigget (Robert Evans was transferred to Cal -EPA). Over the next few weeks
Ms. Wiggett will be reviewing the project files to gain a familiarity with the Cove Contractors
Landfill. She may then request changes or additions to the CPCMP that could change the
proposed submission date of October 10. In spite of this uncertainty, we will make every effort to
hold to our proposed schedule.
Please contact me if you have any questions or require additional information.
Sincerely,
KLEINFELDER, INC.
Timothy A.
