Cover Violation
17684 - Intermediate Cover
A one foot thick intermediate cover has been installed at the site. Thus, no violation
appears to exist.
Fire Violation
17703 - Fire Control
Section 17703 states:
The operator shall take adequate measures for prompt fire control as required by
local fire authorities.
It is our understanding that the Cove Contractors site is under the jurisdiction of two local
fire authorities, the San Joaquin Fire District and the French Camp Fire Department. They
request that dry grass and weeds be removed periodically from the perimeter of the site to
reduce the risk of fire. Each summer, after the grass and weeds have begun to dry, Cove
Contractors cuts a swath around the facility immediately inside the perimeter fence.
Neither local fire authority has required Cove Contractors to control weeds during the
winter. Consequently, we do not believe there is a violation of section 17703.
Drainage/Erosion Violation
17708 - Drainage/Erosion Control
Erosion damage that was observed during the inspection has been corrected during
regrading and placement of the intermediate cover, and no violation appears to exist.
Please call if you have any questions or require additional information.
Sincerely,
KLEINFELDER, INC
Timothy A.
