3) Methane Gas
In December 1987, the CIWMB installed a gas monitoring probe at the landfill
?nd tested the probe for major and trace landfill gases. The sample results
!ndicated the presence of Methane gas at 32.13% by volume.
The detection of methane gas at the site by this study pursuant to CCR ???????
requires a gas detection and verification monitoring system to be installed at the
site.
4) Exposed Auto Shredder Waste
4T 11
to EHD on ???????????????? These plans indicate that a 12 inch soil cover will
be installed over the entire site and the topography of the site will be graded
to drain into the previously used borrow pit area E.
This environmental concern has been addressed by the grading plans submitted
to EHD on ??????????????? These plans indicate storm water to be directed to area
E. Winter operations of the site may be discontinued as area E will be used as both
the active face area and the storm water retention pond due to logistical problems.
The plans indicate that storm water will be allowed to evaporate and or percolate
through the soil. The water in the storm pond may be discharged to a drainage ditch
along the train tracks if after laboratory analysis of the water it is proven to be free
of contaminants leached from ASW.
6) Five Year Permit Review
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
7) Solid Waste Facilities Permit
????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
