Bennett of Miller Brooks Environmental,
GARYPETBRSEN
Inc. on behalf of Cove Contractors, submitted responses to the questions and/or
GPETERSENr(@CLWMB.C:A.GOV
comments that we had sent in the August 29, 2008 letter. Board staff find most of
(916) 3416035
the responses adequate, and therefore, approve the proposed methane venting
system installation at the Cove Contractors Landfill. The approval is subject to
the following condition:
The proposed one year monthly monitoring to establish the trend of the methane
concentration in the probes is acceptable, but only if the declining trend is
established within the first six months of the installation. and operation of the
system. If, a clear declining trend is evident after six months of installation and
operation of the system, the monthly monitoring can continue for additional six
months, and subsequently Cove Contractors may request the Enforcement Agency
(EA) reduce the frequency of the monitoring to quarterly. However, if after six
months of monitoring there is no clear trend of decline in the concentration of the
methane gas in the probes, the EA will require Cove Contractors to propose a
.......
......
modified design and/or improvement to the proposed system.
tvrr:wno
rwsn
lwnwcr.a.ew'r
now.o
()RR)INAL PRIMt7) ON 100%f Ta)WLJMER MNTENT, PROMSE1) CHWRME FREE PAPER
